Reusing, sharing, and duplicating reading lists is easy to do. Once you have crafted your perfect list, you can keep using it year after year.

Working in the Reading Lists Platform Directly:

You can go directly to all of the Reading Lists you have made or owned. Open the Reading List you want to reuse. Click on the three dots to open the list level menu and select "Duplicate List"

You can then rename the list (the default new name will have "Rolled Over" added). And then search for the course you want to add the list to.

Working In Canvas:

After you activate Reading Lists in Canvas, you may either find that a) there is already a reading list or multiple reading lists associated with your course or b) there is no list yet associated with your course.

Scenario A- You have some list associated with your course, but you want to reuse a reading list from a previous semester

Click the three dots next to the list name to open the list menu. Choose "Manage Link to Course"

Click the trash can on the course to delete the course association.

Refresh the page or click on on the Reading Lists navigation item in Canvas to reload the page. Then you can use the options presented on the next page to copy an existing list into this course (See Scenario B below)

Scenario B- There is no list associated with your course yet and you want to reuse a reading list from a previous semester.

When you click into Reading Lists in Canvas you will see a screen presenting you with choice to create a new list or reuse and existing list.

After you choose select existing list, you'll see a list of all of your owned lists. Select the list you want to link to the course and click ok.
