You are able to place a hold on an item that is checked out or an item that is currently on the shelf. If the item is checked out, you will be first in line to get the item once it is returned. If the book is on the shelf, our staff will retrieve it and hold it for you at the front desk. Once the item is at the Circulation Desk, you will be notified via email that it is ready for pickup.

To place a hold or request a book, search for it in Eagle Search (the library catalog). When you find your book, click on it to see more information. You will probably need to look for the yellow bar that asks you to sign in.

You will need to sign in using SSO (your FGCU email and password) to see the request option.

Click on request to see the request form.

If you want the book to be held at the front desk of the library, select FGCU Library as your location. If you live in FGCU housing, select your housing area to have the item delivered to you. If you are FGCU staff or faculty, you can use Library Express Delivery to have your item delivered to your mail room.
